CCE is pleased to announce that we have contracted with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) to provide education review services for the Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor credentials. The BSRB is a composite board that licenses seven distinct mental health professions.
“The BSRB strives to license professionals efficiently, applying standards consistently, to allow board members to better enforce the educational statutes and regulations for the professions,” says BSRB Executive Director David Fye. “To accomplish these goals, the BSRB has partnered with CCE to receive quality educational equivalency reviews on challenging applications that necessitate the review by an expert to assist the board in determining whether both the applicant’s program and coursework meet the requirements for licensure in Kansas.”
In this service, CCE staff members evaluate licensure applications to ensure they meet the educational eligibility criteria set forth by the state board and in state law. The board maintains authority over eligibility decisions, while the CCE team does the work to make the approval process as efficient as possible. The review includes academic transcripts and course descriptions as well as verification of practicum and internship hours.
“We are so excited to welcome the Kansas Board as an education review client,” says Tammi Lee, CCE’s Vice President, Business Services and Partnerships Division. “We look forward to helping the board serve the people of Kansas with thorough evaluations of applicants’ educational qualifications.”
CCE currently also provides education review services for Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
